I started thinking about having personal training purely to reduce my abdominal circumference as it is related to increased risk for non insulin-dependent diabetes, coronary heart disease and of course (and this is my biggest motivation if I’m honest)….. to improve my general appearance. 

Not only were my goals achieved, they were surpassed beyond what I could have expected. This weekly session has taught me how to move to burn fat and build lean muscle; mainly using my own body weight and all in the open air of my garden! Michael is a consummate professional who shows up before your start time, sets everything up and is ready to go before you are – so that you have no excuses not to start smashing your goals immediately!!!  

Michael identifies your weak areas and gives you a focused plan to help you achieve your goals and also identifies other goals that you might not have thought about! Micheal’s USP is that he uses Functional Training to help your body move dynamically in a way that strengthens, tones and burns fat all at the same time.

Improve fitness levels – Lindsay, Knightsbridge

I have always been big into fitness, but upon making the move over to the UK and working with Michael Brigo, he brought my fitness level to new heights.

His workouts involve short, intense exercises that keep the heart rate elevated so you maximise your time, perfect for my busy schedule as mother of two.

Michael always pays attention to my experience from my timing to my technique to my breathing, slowing it down if he feels my body is tired or turning things up when he knows I am ready for the next level push.

He changes things up between core, TRX and boxing so that I am always motivated and so that my body doesn’t get used to the same workout.

Michael didn’t just throw a generic program at me, it was always tailored to meet my personal goals and he would ask me regularly if we should work on something new. Lunges and Squats became my best friends as we focused on the lower half staying tight!

Running Event: 6 minutes knocked off – Keith Hawkins, Mill Hill

I asked Michael to help me train for a 10K run having struck up a conversation with him. I had run 10K a few times but was looking to improve my time, which I was struggling to do. I was also concerned about the strength of my legs, as I have weak knee joints following a sporting injury several years ago.

Michael put in place a 3 month programme to improve my core strength (to improve my running style) and to strengthen my quads and gluteus maximus and include some interval running for stamina.

I have set myself a 10K target of 50-55 minutes, but was not expecting to get below 52 minutes. In the end I achieved a time of 49 minutes, thanks largely to Michael’s help. In particular, I feel the added leg strength enabled me to cope better with the hills on the course, of which there were a few.

I found Michael to have the perfect mix of support and pressure when training, i.e. he looked to push you but never beyond your limits and always listened to you if you needed a break. He also looked to make you progress each session but would not do this if he saw you weren’t able to do it on a particular day.

Added to his professionalism as a personal trainer I found Michael to have a pleasant and approachable manner, he puts you at ease when you are training, is happy to have a laugh with you and generally makes training enjoyable.

I enjoyed my 3 months training schedule with Michael, he helped me exceed my goals and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.”

Corporate Training, Shoreditch

The Dictionary Hostel decided that a great way to keep our staff motivated and fit for all the stresses that they would have to deal with on a daily basis, would be to enroll the team in a corporate fitness program. We absolutely loved it

Each week we were able to train our bodies and have lots of fun together in an environment which proved challenging and fun as well as hugely beneficial to our fitness levels. Staff were able to get rid of their daily stresses and work together in a wholly different way to achieve their personal goals. Unlike drinking the night away (as we also occasionally do), the training provided by BrigoPT, helped us to focus and create a positive outcome for the team. Our productivity improved, our communication improved as did our commitment to each other. Lunches turned into healthy food swaps and soon staff began walking and cycling to work. 

We all enjoyed different aspects of the sessions but loved the friendly competition which developed between us. Training outside was great for getting fresh air in and doing something outside of our ordinary work environment. Michael was always very professional, his sessions demanded something unique and different from us each time as he created a variety of games and challenges for us. No session was ever dull, mundane or the same.

He weighed and measured us every six weeks to ensure that we understood our own bodies and the results we were achieving. He also provided valuable advice for each of us to help us understand the kinds of exercises we should focus on at home or in the gym. He also worked with us to ensure that we could attend sessions and was often flexible around our own working hours. I would highly recommend Brigo training for any work environment.
