You don’t need to be motivated to get in shape

Everybody is motivated to do different things. What motivates one, may not motivate the other (and vice versa). However, motivation comes from the priorities you set for yourself, and therein lies the essence of finding the power to keep pushing yourself forward.

I do understand when my clients tell me they have too much going on in their lives. Raising children, working full-time and managing a home. It’s not easy.

When they’re able to find some time for themselves, they already feel mentally and physically tired and their motivation flies out the window! Motivation is influenced by emotions and they fluctuate every day, but our priorities are meaningful and consistent. We have to focus on them instead.

Making your health and fitness a priority will help you:

  1. Recognize your importance and set some time aside for yourself, to start the process of change.
  2. Do something about it. Whether that is seeking professional help, starting a sport you enjoy or making improvements in your diet. Whatever works for you!
  3. Stick to it. To see change, you need to make it part of your lifestyle.

So, my question to you is: what are your current motivations?

I’m pretty sure one of the reasons you’re motivated is because you see progress. Results give you a sense of achievement that naturally pushes you to do more and more, and consistency is key here.

Most people don’t start a fitness plan because they haven’t seen good results in the past, or because their reason isn’t important enough to begin with.

Over the years, I’ve seen this time and time again, but believe me when I tell you: no matter how stressful work can get, how busy you are or how many children you may have, results do come when you’re able to make yourself a priority.
